Process & Retention
Retaining Dr. Urits is simple. Each step is confirmed in writing, so you always know where the matter stands.
From case inquiry to final opinion
Step 1 – Case inquiry & conflict check. Submit the form with names of all parties, providers (including CRNAs and nurse practitioners), and facilities, plus a brief description. Do not send medical records or privileged material.
Step 2 – Response & scope. Once conflicts are cleared, Dr. Urits responds promptly, confirms whether the issues fall within his expertise, and describes his background so counsel can evaluate qualifications.
Step 3 – Engagement & retainer. You receive the engagement agreement and rates. Retention is confirmed when the signed agreement and retainer are received. Deadlines are confirmed in writing.
Step 4 – Record review & analysis. Records are sent by secure file transfer. Dr. Urits reviews records, imaging, depositions, and relevant literature and offers a fast initial review. Complete anesthesia records, monitoring data, medication records, and PACU notes are especially important.
Step 5 – Opinion, report & testimony. Verbal findings first, a written report at counsel's request, and deposition, hearings, and trial testimony in person or remotely. In-person IMEs take place in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
